Selective Color: White

Goal
Choose a specific color and make a piece where the color dominates. What associations do you have to that color along with the mood it creates? How does this dictate your artist decision?

I had always wanted to work with eggs. I love that eggs are so ambiguous. They could mean so many different things, creation, love, and simplicity, to name a few. Picking a selective color, white, I began to build my project. I used my love for photography to capture the egg in different "states," all left up for the viewers interpretation. Next, I assembled the box, made of four 8 x 10 canvases, to mount my work. For the finishing touches, I added a sculpted egg made of individual egg shells. I loved making this project and I love the confusion it brings to my viewers. I wanted this to be interpreted differently by every person who sees it, I think that I succeeded.
